The Sydney Writers’ Room inaugural Short Story Competition is now accepting entries via the SWR Submittable portal: http://sydneywritersroom.submittable.com/submit
Stories should be limited to 2500 words and must be single-authored. Entries are accepted online only, as Word Documents or PDF files. First prize is a ‘permanent desk’ membership at the SWR for 3 months, with the normal joining fee being waived (valued at $910 AUD). There is also a runner-up prize of a ‘hot desk’ membership at the SWR for 3 months (valued at $550 AUD).
Entries are open to writers from the Greater Sydney area. Current members of the SWR are not eligible to enter. A nominal administration fee of $12 per story is payable by credit card or PayPal.
Entries close at midnight on 31 May 2014. The President and Board Members of the SWR will judge the winning and runner-up story and will advise the authors of these stories by 30 June 2014. Membership prizes will take effect from 1 July 2014.
